My wife and I stayed here a few days when we visited Onaway. Our room was in good shape, new very comfortable beds and bedding, AC worked great (it was hot during our visit). Our room had a minifridge and microwave and k cup coffee maker. We brought our own cups, but there was coffee and creamers and sugar. The person cleaning rooms had a super sweet golden retriever, Macie, that was the defacto hotel greeter. It was quiet and we both slept great. Very nice restaurants within walking distance was a nice perk. The table was wobbly and the door didn't seal completely when closed. Have breakfast at the restaurant kitty corner from the hotel. It's awesome.

This is actually a very nice little motel. The only reason I gave it 3 stars for service, is that it's pretty much self-service . Rooms are clean and very comfortable. I slept like a rock. While you're in town, stop in to Ma's Diner. You won't regret it!

Very modest and clean. Very simple but small. Very comfortable and quiet. I liked the convience of registration and check-in, as well as , the simplicity of check-out. Location was central to the area as I was traveling with a Southern Gospel singing group and performed at several churches in the region. I highly recommend the motel.

Good bargain for the money. The only issue we had, was the electrical outlet behind the nightstand needs to be replaced, because my plug to my sleep machine wouldn’t stay in it. May want to consider replacing with a AC/USB faceplate, as most folks like to charge their phones next to the bed. I will definitely be staying again.

We use this motel to stay as we are in the process of working on our own place. It's great to have a place right in town not far from any food or grocery that we may need that also doesn't break the bank. Any issues or concerns I've had have always been addressed and I would continue to use this motel for future stays.

I've never stayed at a Motel before but needed a cheap place to stay after visiting Ocqueoc Falls. It was clean and cute! The only negative is that the fridge did not work and the air didn't seem to work well. But for $100 for the night, it exceeded expectations!

So I want to try n help clear up some of these nasty roomers! First and most importantly they're r no bugs except those that r out side! This place is still very clean and quiet! Yes, it does need work but nothing is really falling apart it's just older and I'm told they are getting ready to updated the place this year. No you can't talk to anyone on phone there but once you get there a person is on the property and helping in any way he can! I must say they go out of their way! Very nice and pleasant. This is my third return there in three years and I'm never disappointed. We will be back and I'm excited to see what's new changes the new owner will bring. I hope that helps some of you who think elsewise about this property. However down the road from them there is another motel I would never stay at! Js

Very clean and comfortable as d. Very hands off with only on-line registration. Credit card was charged immediately. K-cup coffee maker but only flavored coffee. Yuk! Gas station is close by. Shower is quite small so you will not fall down. Just don't drop the soap. Shower head is quite high with works well for me at 6 ft 6 inches. Bring your own shampoo. Keypads on doors are quite dark until you hit the first number. Use your flashlight on your phone or your headlights after dark. I don't recall getting the wi-fi password but knew it from previous visits. The room was quite cool when I arrived but a space heater was provided. This worked very well to heat the room in short order to a comfortable level. I could turn it off when gone. Entry rug is quite small. I hate to make a mess and would have appreciated at least a small whisk broom and pan to capture any wayward snow. Maybe a runner across the front wall between the door and the chair? Room 12

We found this Establishment after an evening of bad luck, and the rooms were clean and well maintain3d for the most part. The Attendant was very pleasant to talk to, and was a great resource for tips about where to eat and whatnot. All the beds are size full beds, but they're very comfortable, and there is WiFi. Overall I would absolutely suggest Lyon's Motel to travelers in the future.

Traveling through this area and our waitress referred us to this hotel. It was after 10:00 at night when we arrived. We had a room with two double beds. The room was clean. We couldn't find ice, but otherwise it was a nice room for two weary travelers.

We reserved our room based on the reviews and was scared of what we we’re gonna see for $50. Wow, room was clean, didn’t smell and came with a fridge. We are use to sleeping in a king size bed and room has a full size, was a challenge for us, but we made it through. The lady in office was very nice. I gave it 4 stars because after we got back to room after we left the speedway at 11pm, we had no parking place, was stuck next to the trash cans. There was 17 vehicles total, including us, for 13 rooms. They should have assigned spots for each room which would avoid that.

Jessie is awesome. We traveled to Onaway kind of last minute for a funeral during Thanksgiving week. We got a double room for a super great rate. The place is CLEAN and COMFORTABLE. We liked the beds so much we each took one for ourselves and slept sprawled out like starfish. She even allowed our dog there and he would hog one of the beds of one of us dared to move. We arrived later than we thought and Jessie worked with us. She's super friendly. Gas, groceries and just about anything else you could need is less than five minutes away or even walking distance (if it's not 13 degrees out like when we were there). There's a good restaurant across the street. We're glad we found this little gem and when we go back to Onaway, we'll be sure to stay there again.

We spent one night at the Lyons Motel on a bike trip from Cheboygan to Alpena. The motel was very comfortable and clean. The woman in the office was friendly and helpful. Walking distance to several restaurants and Awakon Park (which is worth a visit).

Rooms are old style and small by today's standards but if you are looking for somewhere to hang your hat for couple days, it can't be beat. Best Motel in Town !!!! Owner and Staff were excellent. Room and grounds clean. Buildings and rooms in decent repair. Zero complaints other than small rooms but they cannot do anything about that. Would stay again and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone staying in the area.

This is a small town motel. It is clean and inexpensive. It is close to a great restaurant, and only a few miles from Black Lake State Park. There are no extras, no in room phones, no ice machine, and no morning breakfast. But the owner is very accommodating.

Ended up needing last minute lodging at 9 pm on a Friday night in the middle of deer season! Was about 25 minutes away, called up and asked if they had a double room and she had 1. They held it for us and even saved it when someone else showed up a few minutes before us looking for a double room. We were so grateful and thankful. Room was clean and warm. Very budget friendly w/ wifi. Perfect for our brief overnight stay.

We stayed here during a local dog competition. They are pet friendly and there is a field close by to exercise your dogs. The room was clean and included a refrigerator but not a microwave. The bathroom was small but very clean. There are several restaurants very close to the motel. The lady that runs the motel is very nice and accommodating. This motel met my needs and I would stay here again.

We checked in at 8 pm. The room was very nice. Recently remodeled with a lot of knotty pine and bead board paneling. The bathroom was a little tight but it worked. The shower, sink and toilet look to be brand new. The tile floor looks great too. The water pressure was extreme. The bedding was fresh and clean and also looks to be new. Very comfortable bed. The window ac works well. They have a flat panel tv with cable. Free wifi as well. We took the queen bed but they also have rooms with two beds. (I think the rooms with two beds were a couple dollars more.) All for only $45 on memorial day weekend. (Sunday night.) I highly recommend this motel. I'm glad I didn't read the 4 year old review before stopping.

Right downtown. Close to fuel, food and shopping. Had a room with a single full size bed which was just a little short for my 6'5" frame but the shower was plenty high. I did not have to stoop down like I do in most motels. Very clean and comfortable. Friendly staff. Wi-fi allowed me to download some photos which I could not do with my poor internet connection up there. Good selection of television channels. Would definitely keep this at the top of my list when looking for a place to stay in town.

We have an annual family reunion near Onaway and have stayed at two motels in the area. As far as we are concerned we would only stay at the Lyons in this area. As you might expect for a small northern Michigan town, the rooms are small and efficient, but they are extremely clean and tidy. When we stayed at a different place my wife wouldn't even put her bare feet on the floor; the Lyons was no problem at all. The proprietors are very nice, friendly, accomodating, and know just about everyone in the area. You will be pleased you chose the Lyons.
